Evidence to Impact (EI) is now able to offer Local Authorities and NHS Trusts a 'per-school' licensing option. This provides an alternative option to the county or city-wide models which are not always affordable for many local authorities at a time when public health budgets are under great pressure.
Director of Services Sally Good said "smoking rates across the UK are falling - which is good news. However, we know that there are parts of the country - often in the poorest communities - where smoking take-up rates among young people are still very high.
"Evidence to Impact is now working with local authorities to allow them to deliver ASSIST in a much more targeted way - even down to individual ward level, or at specific schools. This reduces the cost of delivering ASSIST and ensures that this 'gold-standard' intervention reaches the children who will benefit the most."
